Kirill Kondrashin conducts the Moscow Philharmonic Orchestra in a program that brings together two of Tchaikovsky's concert masterpieces. In the first three tracks, Sviatoslav Richter takes center stage in the Piano Concerto No. 1 in B-flat minor, Op. 23, offering a vigorous and deeply expressive interpretation, supported by a compact and incisive orchestra. In the final three, David Oistrakh interprets the Violin Concerto in D major, Op. 35, with impeccable virtuosity and rich nuance, highlighting the score's lyricism and energy. These are two truly remarkable live performances, combining the mastery of two great soloists with Kondrashin's energetic and precise conducting.
