"Raindrops" is the new album by Antonella Vitale, a jazz singer, sensitive songwriter, and musician. Joined by a roster of talented Italian jazz musicians, including Andrea Beneventano on piano, Francesco Puglisi on double bass, Alessandro Marzi on drums, Gerry Popolo on saxophones and flute, Aldo Bassi on flugelhorn and trumpet, and Enrico Bracco on guitar, she offers a fresh and completely original reinterpretation of some of Burt Bacharach's most famous songs. From "Walk on by" to "What the World Needs Now," from "The Look of Love" to "I'll Never Fall in Love Again," from "Raindrops Keep Falling on My Head" to... many more! The album closes with three bonus tracks featuring Antonella's own original compositions.
The album was recorded, as usual, in the large AreaMagister Studio in Preganziol, using high-resolution 24-bit/88.2kHz digital technology, but above all using the extraordinary analog equipment present in the studio. And what about the piano, the noble Steinway & Sons D274 Concert Grand, built in New York in 1930 and now, perfectly restored, residing in Velut Luna's studio?
At the console, two technicians whose names are familiar to fans: Marco Lincetto, with special guest Stefano Isola.
Smooth, detailed sounds, high-profile dynamics, a beautiful, bewitching voice: another pure diamond is added to the diadem of the Ladies of Velut Luna.
