Championed by Liszt, praised by Brahms, a friend of Vieuxtemps, Hubay was a Hungarian violinist and composer, celebrated throughout Europe in his time. Today, he belongs to that group of artists whom musicology is slowly rediscovering, with results both in concert and recording.
