CHIARA SARCHINI, PIANO
Championed by Liszt, praised by Brahms, a friend of Vieuxtemps, Hubay was a Hungarian violinist and composer, celebrated throughout Europe in his time. Today, he belongs to that group of artists whom musicology is slowly rediscovering, with results both in concert and recording. This CD offers a summary of his work for violin and piano, blending elegant Central European taste with elements of the Hungarian tradition.
